lets start with the response to my final ideas for both print and video advertisements so lets start with the video advertisement.
In this Project my roles were Director and Cameraman.
COMMERCIAL
So with the video overall I thought it was alright as it presented the functionalbility of the speaker and how I physically showed the 2 main features of the speaker being that its waterproof and that its also drop proof because my original idea was to just drop it but to actually physically show the speaker getting knocked over or split in a situation that the speaker would be used in would help sell the speaker to the target audience but what i could improve was the sequencing of the shot mainly the dancing shots as I could try and make the dancing more energetic as it would help sell the speaker on the grounds that whoever own this speaker would join a fun and exciting group also I could improve the quality of the text graphics used in the commercial as if i had more time I could mess around with some of the animation features of premier pro such as scale change or movement on the screen.
But the biggest problem is my editing choice of changing colours at a fast pace on the screen could cause problems with viewers diagnosed with epilepsy as this ad can help cause and epileptic fit and that can cause medical damage and lawsuits and to help with the prevent the cause of these fits.
Another problem in my video was the lighting change of 2 back to back scenes as I did them at different times of the day so if i had the chance I would go back and add the lumetri colour effect to the clip in question to help match the lighting in the first shot so its not as obvious.
Now the effectiveness of the advert in general is split it helps sell the effectiveness of the product and that it can be used anywhere and survive most environments but it could be so much better because I could've used more advertisement techniques such as the Bandwagon or snob appeal to help draw in my target audience and make my ad overall affective.
OVERALL OUTCOME OF FINAL IDEAS
The outcome of my video advertisement towards my target audience is in my opinion was successful as my target audience was the ages of 15 to 40yrs old as from the research I did this is the age difference that purchase the most Bluetooth speakers.
My advert was successful as it presented the functionality of my speaker and the properties and the ability's present in the speaker and that I kind of presented the snob affect as I tried to present that whoever bought the speaker would be apart of the everlasting party.
Now with the print advertisements honestly they could be a lot more better as they are quite simple designs and that I used a Logos approach to all my designs as I had poor time management of my project so I ended doing the simple design (poster, billboard and bus side ad) but I am pleased with my poster design compared to the billboard and the bus side as it actually presents the product and its features and helps appeal to my younger side of my target audience
REVIEW OF PRODUCTION AND TIME MANAGEMENT
My time management was terrible as it affected my posters were not that great and were a poor quality due to my time management of my project as a whole as I spent too much time on the research and planning stages instead of planning my video and printable.
One of the stages that well was the research stage as I was able to do extensive research into my chosen field in this case it was speakers as I found financial reports on blue tooth speakers the age range that helped build my target audience and that I also found out the many features of the product and that I also found the comparison between my chosen speaker and the others on the market
But the section that wasn't as good was my idea page as I was able to think of the idea I wanted to do but I couldn't think of two other ideas for what I could do for my video advertisement but I was able to write a in depth treatment of my idea including music scores and graphic ideas plus a description of my idea.
PLANNING AND PRE-PRODUCTION
The planning stage for my was quite shocking as i focused on my drafts for my printable on drawing drafts and sketching out my storyboard but as i spent more time on my printable planning i completely forgot to set filming schedules and shot lists of my video and cast list as i didn't know who i could get to do this so if i could improve this section for next time i would stick to my work schedule so i could try and get an equal amount of work done for both sections so i could try and get an equal amount of work done so i wont have to rush my printable production like i did this time but what did help in the pre-production stage was the storyboard as it gave me a rough idea of my video.
RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT
The research that mainly helped me develop my target audience profile was the financial reports I found on the average age of buyers of bluetooth speaker which was around the age of 15 to 40yrs old but I mainly focused on the younger generation as I know from personal experience and that I am part of the younger generation so it helped me picture my advert as I have no clue what the older generation do with their speakers but I should've looked into that but from what I found out about the target audience has helped to decide the story behind my ad as I have chosen a party because most teenagers love to party and its the ideal setting as this linked in to giving me a better chance at showing off the water proof and drop proof ability of the speakers in an actual situation.
The main part of my research that was missing is that I haven't done a questionnaire or a survey for my speaker and that could produce some influential information that could've helped me in the creation of my final idea and the setting I could've of used.
another weakness in my research stage was my print ad research as I didn't really look it many product as I just looked into one other product in this case it was a beats speaker by Dre and it not the best poster to Analyse as it was quite simple and didn't use many advertisement features and didn't provide any insight into its target audience so I couldn't relate so if I had to do it again I would look further into the older section of my target audience.
What I've learnt from this assignment
By doing this assessment I have learnt the great deal of work that is put in to advertise a product and by just using 3 main parts Ethos, Pathos and Logos as they are basics of advertising I have also learnt about some of the techniques which I may need to look into as I only understand a few of these but otherwise I have learnt the art of the target audience profile which helps make a target for your advertisement and helps sets the basis of this entire project.
Conclusion
Overall the assignment was a mediocre success as most of the advertisements including the prints could've been a lot better and especially the research section but thanks to this assignment I can now learn form my mistakes and improve over the future assignments to come.
