Test footage of advert
to help with the creation of my video advertisement I have created a draft ad with the use of some tea footage I shot so that I could look at what my advert would look like and to also help me sort out any shots I need to adjust to help make this a success.
My role creating this test ad was that I was directing the entire trailer and that I had planned to do more shots and that some of these shots couldn't be done at that time but what did help was the storyboard I created as it gave me a rough idea of what I wanted my commercial to look like in the final shoot
Draft posters
To help with the creation my poster I have created 2 test posters for the ideas I had and with these posters I will find the type of advertising strategy that works best on my product
Commercial production
after reviewing the test footage of my commercial and making some adjustments to the original plan I have made my final commercial plan.
first off I have changed the way I was going to show the features of the speaker (the drop proof feature and that's its waterproof) i originally was going to just drop the speaker and dunk in some water but instead I have decided to use the theme of a party that was already prevalent in the ad so now to help show the water proof feature of the speaker I'm going to have someone spill their drink on the speaker and to show that its drop proof I'm going to have someone knock the speaker off a table as this can happen during party's.
what I also realized in the test footage is that the dancing shots where too long and the shot was kept in one type so I decided to shoot one long shot of dancing and during this the actors would freeze holding the speaker in a position so I could get a close up shot of the speaker so I could get the opportunity to list some of the features of the speaker
DURING PRODUCTION
When the filming started and after the first 2 shots I looked at the footage and realized that the footage had a tinge of yellow and I have realized I forgot to white balance the camera before shooting so I had to go back and retake the shots I also ran into the problem of lighting as I tried to use natural sunlight but this backfires as I filmed over 2 days and on the second day the lighting had completely changed and you can physically see this in the video in the opening 2 shots and that I tried to sort this out in the editing by using lumetri colour affect to try and change the brightness of the shot I also ran into the problem was the drop prof shot as I did multiple shots as we had to make the speaker fall into place so to counter this problem I angled the speaker on the stool so it would definitely land in frame/
working with my cast was a little difficult as we couldn't film during the day because we were both unavailable so we decided to film at night and early in the morning as we were able to meet.
during editing and in the dancing scene I chose to cut up one of the dancing scenes to make the shot look more energetic and added colour changes to make it look kind of like a rave to make the scene more energetic.
